Sedation Dentistry in Bridgewater

At Parkside Family Dentistry, we understand that dental anxiety is a common experience for many patients. That is why we offer sedation dentistry services. We are dedicated to ensuring our patients receive the high-quality care they deserve. Depending on your treatment needs, we may recommend local anesthesia, laughing gas and oral sedation.

If you experience dental anxiety, you may benefit from sedation dentistry. Sedation can be given to patients of all ages and used for a variety of treatments. Whether you need a simple cleaning or a more invasive procedure, our friendly and professional staff can offer you a sedation method to help you relax. Your comfort is our top priority.

Our sedation options include:

  • Local Anesthesia: This is a combination of medications used to numb a part of your mouth for treatment. We will inject the anesthetic in your gum or inner cheek. Local anesthesia works to numb the treatment site and the surrounding area so that you do not experience pain. Numbness can last up to several hours following your appointment.
  • Laughing Gas: A gentle sedation method that uses a breathable mixture of gas and oxygen. We will administer the gas through a small mask placed over your nose before treatment. Laughing gas gets its name from the sense of giddiness it is known to give patients as they begin to relax. We use laughing gas in combination with local anesthesia to keep you relaxed during your procedure. The effects of the gas wear off quickly after treatment with minimal grogginess, allowing you to drive yourself home following your appointment.
  • Oral Sedation: This is a conscious sedation method that we administer in a pill an hour before your procedure. Oral sedation puts you in a drowsy state of deep relaxation. Patients will remain awake during treatment but feel no pain or anxiety. We will use this in combination with local anesthesia.

If you think you are a good candidate for sedation dentistry, be sure to speak with our dentist. We will review your medical history to ensure you have no allergies or adverse reactions to the medications we use during sedation.

Today was my little girl's first visit to the dentist...and everyone we worked with at this office was super friendly, professional, and fun to be around. Happy that our family seems to have found a wonderful dental practice.

I visited Parkside on two occasions. First, I’ll say, that I have always had severe anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. The second visit was to have my tooth removed, of which I was really anxious about. Both the hygienists and Dr. Sadoon were great and quickly put my mind at ease! I would recommend Parkside to anyone I know, that needs any dental work done or just for yearly cleanings.
